ਸੁਣਿਐ ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਕਾ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੯॥ सुणिऐ दूख पाप का नासु ॥९॥ Suṇi▫ai ḏūkẖ pāp kā nās. ||9|| Listening-pain and sin are erased. ||9||

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ सुणिऐ सतु संतोखु गिआनु ॥ Suṇi▫ai saṯ sanṯokẖ gi▫ān. Listening-truth, contentment and spiritual wisdom.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਕਾ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ सुणिऐ अठसठि का इसनानु ॥ Suṇi▫ai aṯẖsaṯẖ kā isnān. Listening-take your cleansing bath at the sixty-eight places of pilgrimage.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ सुणिऐ पड़ि पड़ि पावहि मानु ॥ Suṇi▫ai paṛ paṛ pāvahi mān. Listening-reading and reciting, honor is obtained.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ सुणिऐ लागै सहजि धिआनु ॥ Suṇi▫ai lāgai sahj ḏẖi▫ān. Listening-intuitively grasp the essence of meditation.

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ॥ नानक भगता सदा विगासु ॥ Nānak bẖagṯā saḏā vigās. O Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਸਰਾ ਗੁਣਾ ਕੇ ਗਾਹ ॥ सुणिऐ सरा गुणा के गाह ॥ Suṇi▫ai sarā guṇā ke gāh. Listening-dive deep into the ocean of virtue.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਸੇਖ ਪੀਰ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ॥ सुणिऐ सेख पीर पातिसाह ॥ Suṇi▫ai sekẖ pīr pāṯisāh. Listening-the Shaykhs, religious scholars, spiritual teachers and emperors.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਅੰਧੇ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਰਾਹੁ ॥ सुणिऐ अंधे पावहि राहु ॥ Suṇi▫ai anḏẖe pāvahi rāhu. Listening-even the blind find the Path.

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਹਾਥ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਸਗਾਹੁ ॥ सुणिऐ हाथ होवै असगाहु ॥ Suṇi▫ai hāth hovai asgāhu. Listening-the Unreachable comes within your grasp.

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ॥ नानक भगता सदा विगासु ॥ Nānak bẖagṯā saḏā vigās. O Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss.

ਮੰਨੇ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ मंने की गति कही न जाइ ॥ Manne kī gaṯ kahī na jā▫e. The state of the faithful cannot be described.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥ जे को कहै पिछै पछुताइ ॥ Je ko kahai picẖẖai pacẖẖuṯā▫e. One who tries to describe this shall regret the attempt.

ਕਾਗਦਿ ਕਲਮ ਨ ਲਿਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ कागदि कलम न लिखणहारु ॥ Kāgaḏ kalam na likẖaṇhār. No paper, no pen, no scribe

ਮੰਨੇ ਕਾ ਬਹਿ ਕਰਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ मंने का बहि करनि वीचारु ॥ Manne kā bahi karan vīcẖār. can record the state of the faithful.

ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥ Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e. Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੨॥ जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१२॥ Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||12|| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ||12||

ਮੰਨੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਬੁਧਿ ॥ मंनै सुरति होवै मनि बुधि ॥ Mannai suraṯ hovai man buḏẖ. The faithful have intuitive awareness and intelligence.

ਮੰਨੈ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਣ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ॥ मंनै सगल भवण की सुधि ॥ Mannai sagal bẖavaṇ kī suḏẖ. The faithful know about all worlds and realms.

ਮੰਨੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਨਾ ਖਾਇ ॥ मंनै मुहि चोटा ना खाइ ॥ Mannai muhi cẖotā nā kẖā▫e. The faithful shall never be struck across the face.

ਮੰਨੈ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ मंनै जम कै साथि न जाइ ॥ Mannai jam kai sāth na jā▫e. The faithful do not have to go with the Messenger of Death.

ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥ Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e. Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੩॥ जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१३॥ Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||13|| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ||13||

ਮੰਨੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥ मंनै मारगि ठाक न पाइ ॥ Mannai mārag ṯẖāk na pā▫e. The path of the faithful shall never be blocked.

ਮੰਨੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ मंनै पति सिउ परगटु जाइ ॥ Mannai paṯ si▫o pargat jā▫e. The faithful shall depart with honor and fame.

ਮੰਨੈ ਮਗੁ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਪੰਥੁ ॥ मंनै मगु न चलै पंथु ॥ Mannai mag na cẖalai panth. The faithful do not follow empty religious rituals.

ਮੰਨੈ ਧਰਮ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ॥ मंनै धरम सेती सनबंधु ॥ Mannai ḏẖaram seṯī san▫banḏẖ. The faithful are firmly bound to the Dharma.

ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ऐसा नामु निरंजनु होइ ॥ Aisā nām niranjan ho▫e. Such is the Name of the Immaculate Lord.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧੪॥ जे को मंनि जाणै मनि कोइ ॥१४॥ Je ko man jāṇai man ko▫e. ||14|| Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. ||14||

ਮੰਨੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖੁ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ मंनै पावहि मोखु दुआरु ॥ Mannai pāvahi mokẖ ḏu▫ār. The faithful find the Door of Liberation.

ਮੰਨੈ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਸਾਧਾਰੁ ॥ मंनै परवारै साधारु ॥ Mannai parvārai sāḏẖār. The faithful uplift and redeem their family and relations.

ਮੰਨੈ ਤਰੈ ਤਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਖ ॥ मंनै तरै तारे गुरु सिख ॥ Mannai ṯarai ṯāre gur sikẖ. The faithful are saved, and carried across with the Sikhs of the Guru.

ਮੰਨੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵਹਿ ਨ ਭਿਖ ॥ मंनै नानक भवहि न भिख ॥ Mannai Nānak bẖavahi na bẖikẖ. The faithful, O Nanak, do not wander around begging.

ਪੰਚ ਪਰਵਾਣ ਪੰਚ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥ पंच परवाण पंच परधानु ॥ Pancẖ parvāṇ pancẖ parḏẖān. The chosen ones, the self-elect, are accepted and approved.

ਪੰਚੇ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ पंचे पावहि दरगहि मानु ॥ Pancẖe pāvahi ḏargahi mān. The chosen ones are honored in the Court of the Lord.

ਪੰਚੇ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਰਾਜਾਨੁ ॥ पंचे सोहहि दरि राजानु ॥ Pancẖe sohahi ḏar rājān. The chosen ones look beautiful in the courts of kings.

ਪੰਚਾ ਕਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ पंचा का गुरु एकु धिआनु ॥ Pancẖā kā gur ek ḏẖi▫ān. The chosen ones meditate single-mindedly on the Guru.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਕਰੈ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ जे को कहै करै वीचारु ॥ Je ko kahai karai vīcẖār. No matter how much anyone tries to explain and describe them,

ਕਰਤੇ ਕੈ ਕਰਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥ करते कै करणै नाही सुमारु ॥ Karṯe kai karṇai nāhī sumār. the actions of the Creator cannot be counted.

ਧੌਲੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਾ ਪੂਤੁ ॥ धौलु धरमु दइआ का पूतु ॥ Ḏẖoul ḏẖaram ḏa▫i▫ā kā pūṯ. The mythical bull is Dharma, the son of compassion;

ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਥਾਪਿ ਰਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੂਤਿ ॥ संतोखु थापि रखिआ जिनि सूति ॥ Sanṯokẖ thāp rakẖi▫ā jin sūṯ. this is what patiently holds the earth in its place.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬੁਝੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥ जे को बुझै होवै सचिआरु ॥ Je ko bujẖai hovai sacẖiār. One who understands this becomes truthful.

ਧਵਲੈ ਉਪਰਿ ਕੇਤਾ ਭਾਰੁ ॥ धवलै उपरि केता भारु ॥ Ḏẖavlai upar keṯā bẖār. What a great load there is on the bull!

ਧਰਤੀ ਹੋਰੁ ਪਰੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਹੋਰੁ ॥ धरती होरु परै होरु होरु ॥ Ḏẖarṯī hor parai hor hor. So many worlds beyond this world-so very many!

ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਭਾਰੁ ਤਲੈ ਕਵਣੁ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ तिस ते भारु तलै कवणु जोरु ॥ Ŧis ṯe bẖār ṯalai kavaṇ jor. What power holds them, and supports their weight?

ਜੀਅ ਜਾਤਿ ਰੰਗਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਵ ॥ जीअ जाति रंगा के नाव ॥ Jī▫a jāṯ rangā ke nāv. The names and the colors of the assorted species of beings

ਸਭਨਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਵੁੜੀ ਕਲਾਮ ॥ सभना लिखिआ वुड़ी कलाम ॥ Sabẖnā likẖi▫ā vuṛī kalām. were all inscribed by the Ever-flowing Pen of God.

ਏਹੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ एहु लेखा लिखि जाणै कोइ ॥ Ėhu lekẖā likẖ jāṇai ko▫e. Who knows how to write this account?

ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕੇਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ लेखा लिखिआ केता होइ ॥ Lekẖā likẖi▫ā keṯā ho▫e. Just imagine what a huge scroll it would take!

ਕੇਤਾ ਤਾਣੁ ਸੁਆਲਿਹੁ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ केता ताणु सुआलिहु रूपु ॥ Keṯā ṯāṇ su▫ālihu rūp. What power! What fascinating beauty!

ਕੇਤੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੌਣੁ ਕੂਤੁ ॥ केती दाति जाणै कौणु कूतु ॥ Keṯī ḏāṯ jāṇai kouṇ kūṯ. And what gifts! Who can know their extent?

ਕੀਤਾ ਪਸਾਉ ਏਕੋ ਕਵਾਉ ॥ कीता पसाउ एको कवाउ ॥ Kīṯā pasā▫o eko kavā▫o. You created the vast expanse of the Universe with One Word!

ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ ॥ तिस ते होए लख दरीआउ ॥ Ŧis ṯe ho▫e lakẖ ḏarī▫ā▫o. Hundreds of thousands of rivers began to flow.

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਵਣ ਕਹਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ कुदरति कवण कहा वीचारु ॥ Kuḏraṯ kavaṇ kahā vīcẖār. How can Your Creative Potency be described?

ਵਾਰਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਵਾ ਏਕ ਵਾਰ ॥ वारिआ न जावा एक वार ॥ vāri▫ā na jāvā ek vār. I cannot even once be a sacrifice to You.

ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾਈ ਭਲੀ ਕਾਰ ॥ जो तुधु भावै साई भली कार ॥ Jo ṯuḏẖ bẖāvai sā▫ī bẖalī kār. Whatever pleases You is the only good done,

ਤੂ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੧੬॥ तू सदा सलामति निरंकार ॥१६॥ Ŧū saḏā salāmaṯ nirankār. ||16|| You, Eternal and Formless One! ||16||

ਅਸੰਖ ਜਪ ਅਸੰਖ ਭਾਉ ॥ असंख जप असंख भाउ ॥ Asaʼnkẖ jap asaʼnkẖ bẖā▫o. Countless meditations, countless loves.

ਅਸੰਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਸੰਖ ਤਪ ਤਾਉ ॥ असंख पूजा असंख तप ताउ ॥ Asaʼnkẖ pūjā asaʼnkẖ ṯap ṯā▫o. Countless worship services, countless austere disciplines.

ਅਸੰਖ ਗਰੰਥ ਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਦ ਪਾਠ ॥ असंख गरंथ मुखि वेद पाठ ॥ Asaʼnkẖ garanth mukẖ veḏ pāṯẖ. Countless scriptures, and ritual recitations of the Vedas.

ਅਸੰਖ ਜੋਗ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਉਦਾਸ ॥ असंख जोग मनि रहहि उदास ॥ Asaʼnkẖ jog man rahahi uḏās. Countless Yogis, whose minds remain detached from the world.  सिख धर्म आगे
